Officers of the department wished they were at Pierce Mfg. in Appleton, Wisconsin checking over new Engine 25. Unfortunately, it is for the Honolulu Fire Department. Thank you to Keith Flood from Glick Fire for the picture proving that fire trucks are supposed to be YELLOW.

May's incidents included: 4 motor vehicle accidents, 3 odor investigations, 1 smoke investigation, 2 AFA, 1 wires down, & a mulch fire.

April was, thankfully, a slower month for the department. Incidents included:2 MVAs, 2 fire alarms, 2 smoke/odor checks, 2 reported structure fires, & a vehicle fire.

In an attempt to save energy and money, the PVFD is continuing it's program of upgrades to our buildings. We just concluded a project of revamping our heating system to increase its' efficiency. The department is proud to announce for the second year in a row we have recieved a community assistance grant from the Pennsylvania American Water Company. The $500.00 grant will be used to purchase class "A' foam for use on the fire ground.

The department is saddened by the death of Pierre Klein, life member and former fire chief for over 30 years. Thank you to all of our fire service comrades who assisted us in remembering Pierre's life and his many contributions to the fire service in Allegheny County and the State of Pennsylvania.
